All units are internally assessed through assignments and subject to external standards verification by Pearson. An assignment is a distinct activity, completed independently by students and it takes a variety of forms, including practical and written types. Each assignment is divided into tasks with a clear and formal assessment outcome, based on the assessment criteria. It is issued to students with a defined start date, a completion date, and clear requirements for the evidence that they need to provide. Assignments are assessed using a grading scale of Distinction (D), Merit (M), Pass (P), and Unclassified (U). All units contribute proportionately to the final BTEC grade.
